Wonderful espresso and excellent breakfast items. The fellas behind the counter are very kind and patient. It’s worth the wait. Note: cash only. ~8 tables with 20 seats.

Our favourite bakery across many cities we've been to in Europe. The pastry is crisp and flaky and the service is welcome and friendly. Wish we could teleport back!

Absolutely amazing! 🤣 They speak French, Spanish, and English... the two owners are on fire from 9 am... The local pastries are incredibly delicious, the hot chocolate is divine, and the freshly squeezed orange juice is simply divine. The best spot, simple and efficient, to start the day off right and tackle the hills and stairs of Alfama.

This place deserves more than 5 stars. We went there twice in our short trip. The owners are very warm and welcoming. The pastries and savouries are tasty as hell. It’s a small bakery that deserves all the attention. We had the rice cake, chicken and vegetarian savouries. Must visit

After visiting Saint George Castle that day, I wandered aimlessly through the alleys of the Alfama district. After lunch, I felt I could have something for dessert, and remembered this famous bakery. It took me a while to find it. When I arrived, there was a queue outside, not too long, not too short, so I obediently joined the line. It wasn't long before it was my turn. Since I was just having a quick bite, I only ordered a Portuguese egg tart (Pastel de nata) for takeout, which cost a whopping €1.30. The crust was incredibly crispy, and the filling was slightly sweet but delicious. Great value for money, highly recommended!
