A true taste of the best in Portuguese sweets. Remember to bring cash as they do not take cards. But their variety and value are worth a trip to the ATM if needed. The two gentlemen who run the place are super friendly and accommodating. A definite must visit while in Alfama! So happy we found this spot on our first day, we were staying just around the corner. So happy we found this spot on our first day, we were staying just around the corner.

What makes this place is this couple who run it. They speak (obviously Portuguese ) English, French, Spanish and italian ! Maybe some other languages too!
They are busy in the morning but when it’s quieter they are happy to speak with all the locals and tourists a-like.
Visit just to say Hi to Paola and her husband, and pick up the best pastry’s in the area.Great service, super friendly owners and delicious baked goods! The pastel de nata are GREAT, the best I had while in Lisbon. They also serve shots of ginjinha cherry liqueur as well as moscatel. Delicious! Cash only so bring your euros!

stopping by this bakery on top of the Alfama hill to grab a sweet bite. greeted by a friendly baker and he said i should try their coconut tart as it is a little different from the ones around. i like their coconut is less sugary and greasy but packed with coconut flakes and flavours. check it out if you are in the area, apparently they have be try good natas too!
Absolute gem of a place! Delicious pastries, sweet and savoury. Great coffee. Freshly squeezed orange juice. Friendy and genuinely welcoming staff. The Pastel Alfama are to die for. Had to buy some more for later! There is more seating inside than you can see from the door. Meander through the little streets to this delightful bakery. You won't be disappointed.

Can’t recommend this place highly enough. Had the chocolate cake and pastel de nata. To my surprise it was one of the best pastel denatas I had, better than some of the more popular and recommended places. But I loved the chocolate cake even more! Rich, moist(in a great way) and decadent.
Above all even if the pastries were terrible I would still go just because how amazing the service was. Had a very short yet deep conversation with Fredrick, which shows he’s not just trying to sell and make small talks, but actually value conversations. Definitely check it out.Super friendly service for everyone—locals and travelers alike. The pastel de nata here tastes even better than those from more famous pastry shops. A true hidden gem!
A hidden gem worth visiting (not a tourist trap) several times. Owners husband and wife prepare all pastries homemade, and are so delicious and fresh. Will be back again for sure. Food tour guides visit this place all day long, that’s how good it is. I happened to encounter a beautiful tourist. I wish I had the chance to speak to her.
The owner is super friendly, and everything here is amazing—the food, the dining environment, everything! Honestly, I think the egg tart here is even better than the famous ones in Belém. Absolutely incredible! The coffee was great, and the cheese & spinach savory pastry was delicious too. Huge thanks to the owner for the passion and effort—it truly made my day start off wonderfully!
Delicious homemade pastries and a wonderful experience at this little gem in Alfama. I had the pastel de nata and their own pastel de alfama made with almond and lemons. It's run by a couple and the lady is the loveliest, friendliest soul.
We read about this little place in preparation for our trip to Portugal. My family and I enjoyed the custard pastries and some ice cream. While you have quite the uphill walk to get there it is worth every step! We felt welcomed as tourists and the food was absolutely delicious!
The high rating score is definitely well deserved. Not only the pastries are so tasty, but also the place is charming and the lady is very friendly, despite the crowds and queues of tourists waiting to get theirs pastel de nata. The prices are really low compared to the high quality :)
A little gem in the heart of Alfama. Enjoy the well known Pasteis de Nata or their own Pasteis de Alfama. The orange cake or the little Bolo de arroz are also worth the detour. The owners are very nice, they speak so many languages !!
Really lovely experience- the couple who run the shop are efficient and pleasant. Definitely come early (before 10am) to beat the line. Delicious Pastel de Nata, especially with the coffee. Must visit, especially if you’re staying in Alfama!
Best pastel de nata we had in Portugal (and believe me, we tried many)! Lady owning the pastry shop was very kind too, 10/10 highly recommend
